Careers workshops

I'm an experience presenter on the topic of career development and micro business marketing, available to present workshops anywhere in Perth, Western Australia on behalf of local government and education providers.

What you can expect from me as a presenter:

Practical career development that creates opportunities

Most career advice tells you to look for opportunities. I teach you how to create them, even if you don't think of yourself as very brave or confident.

With 20 years in small business and extensive corporate experience before that, I've learned that career success isn't about waiting for the right opening and then competing with everyone else for it. It's about running your own race, thinking critically about yourself and moving forward in a way that's right for you.

A different approach to career development

My workshops go beyond traditional resume writing and generic interview tips. I focus on what actually gets you hired: understanding what the decision-maker is looking for, then positioning yourself as the solution they need.

Participants learn to:

  • Decode what interviewers are really asking and craft responses that address their underlying concerns
  • Script and practice responses that showcase strengths without sounding rehearsed or arrogant
  • Use body language and communication to build rapport and credibility
  • Position their experience to demonstrate value beyond the job description
  • Create opportunities rather than simply respond to them

Practical, hands-on sessions

These aren't lecture-style presentations. Workshops are interactive, practical sessions where participants work on real scenarios, practice techniques, and leave with actionable strategies they can use immediately.

Whether your audience is school leavers preparing for their first interviews, adults navigating career transitions, or mature workers re-entering the workforce, sessions are tailored to meet participants where they are and give them tools that work.

What participants will get out of the workshop

My goal is for participants to leave feeling empowered and prepared—with concrete skills, practiced techniques, and the confidence to approach their next career opportunity strategically.

Most importantly, they will leave knowing that whatever happens, they can take something out of every win or loss and use that information to inform their next move.
