Most people find it genuinely difficult to write about or talk about themselves. Not because they lack experience or ability - but because it's almost impossible to see yourself as clearly as other people can see you. That gap between what you actually have to offer and what you manage to communicate is where opportunities get lost.
These workshops close that gap.
I'm Sandy Taylor - careers counsellor and vocational coach, author of The Complete Picture, and speaker with experience presenting to groups from senior school students to professional associations across Perth and Western Australia. My workshops are practical, interactive, and built around solving real problems rather than offering generic advice.

How to write about yourself
Resumes, cover letters, about me pages, LinkedIn profiles - this is where even experienced professionals fall down.
This workshop goes beyond formatting tips to tackle the harder problem: working out what to say, and how to say it in a way that lands with the person reading it. Participants leave with a clearer sense of what employers are looking for when they read a resume and how to present their own experience and attributes, using a practical framework they can apply immediately.
How to see the value you offer
Before you can write about yourself effectively, you need to be able to look at yourself objectively from the perspective of an employer.
This workshop draws on The Complete Picture framework to help participants identify what they actually bring to the table - not just their job titles and qualifications, but the thinking style, the experience, and the transferable skills that make them genuinely useful to an employer or client. Practical, evidence-based, and confronting in the best possible way.
The Complete Picture - introductory session
A workshop introduction to the eight-factor Complete Picture framework for groups who want a structured, evidence-based approach to career development. Suitable for school leavers, adults in career transition, or organisations supporting employees through change.
Workshops can be delivered as standalone sessions or combined into a half-day program. Sessions are tailored to the audience - whether that's school leavers preparing for their next chapter, adults navigating a career transition, or experienced professionals who've never had to think about this before.
Workshop experience
I've presented practical workshops for the City of Kalamunda, the City of Stirling Business Association, and Global Sisters - an organisation supporting women who are self-employed - as well as three years of regular presentation experience through Toastmasters.
The thread running through all of it is the same regardless of the audience or the topic. Whether we're talking about marketing a business, promoting an event, or navigating a career transition, the starting point is always the same question: what's genuinely different about you, and how do you communicate that clearly to the people who need to hear it?
That question is harder to answer than it sounds. Most people are too close to their own situation to see it clearly. My job is to help them step back far enough to see what's actually there - and then find the words for it.
