Hi, I'm Sandy Taylor - Career Counsellor and Vocational Coach based in Perth, Western Australia, and author of The Complete Picture.
Most career advice assumes you're following a conventional path. I've never followed one myself, which is probably why I'm good at helping people who aren't either.
My working life has moved through corporate finance and treasury trading, senior finance management, freelance bookkeeping, buying and building and selling a product business, and eventually into digital marketing and web design.
I didn't plan it that way. But what that kind of career does is give you an unusual ability - you get pretty good at reading transferable skills, because you've had to find your own at every turn.
That's what I do for the people I work with.
I can see what you're capable of more clearly than you can, not because I'm psychic but because I'm observant and I'm not inside your head. I know what experience actually translates to, and I know what the practical path from here to there usually looks like - including the steps nobody thinks to mention. I hold a Certificate IV in Career Development, a Certificate in Coaching & Development, and I'm an Associate Member of the Career Development Association of Australia.
As a small business marketing specialist, I've spent more than a decade working with independent professionals across a wide range of industries on their marketing and positioning.
