If your son or daughter is heading toward the end of school and still has no idea what they want to do next, you're probably more stressed about it than they are.
Everyone else seems to have a plan but your kid is either frozen, or has picked something just to have an answer - and you're not convinced it's the right one.
The problem usually isn't that they don't know themselves - it's that nobody has helped them look at themselves the right way yet. Interest surveys and grade-based recommendations only tell part of the story, how they actually think, what environments they thrive in, what they genuinely value in work - that's the part that gets missed.

The Complete Picture framework
Every session I run is built around The Complete Picture - a framework I spent more than a decade developing, based on eight factors from established psychology that explain why some work suits certain people and some work slowly kills them.
The eight factors are intelligence type, intelligence style, interests, personality, family background, attitudes, habits, and critical thinking. Working through all eight together produces something most students have never had - an honest, evidence-based picture of who they actually are and what that means for what comes next.
The Complete Picture is also a book, available now on Amazon. Every session includes a copy.
Ways to work with me
The Intensive Complete Picture Session - $195 | up to 2 hours
For students who'd like to work through The Complete Picture Framework in conversation with someone objective in the room from the start. Produces two or three realistic directions with a concrete next step. Available now and includes a copy of the book.
General career advice session - $150 | 60 minutes
Sometimes a student just needs a conversation with someone outside the family and outside the school - an objective view on a decision they're weighing, a direction they're unsure about, or a practical next step they can't quite see. No framework required.
Return sessions - $120 | 60 minutes
For students who want to come back - to review directions, work through what happened when they took a step, or just think something through with an objective person. No agenda required.
The school program - coming soon
The most complete delivery method for teenagers. Eight facilitated sessions in a school setting that provide the structure, motivation, and peer environment that most students need to get the most out of The Complete Picture Framework. Maps directly to the SCSA Career and Enterprise curriculum. If you're a parent interested in bringing this program to your teenager's school, get in touch.
Note: For students under 18, a parent or guardian will need to be involved in booking and is welcome to participate in sessions if appropriate.
A different kind of careers counsellor
School careers counsellors do a remarkable job with the resources and time they have. But they operate within a school context - and a school context has its limits when it comes to preparing students for the real world of work.
My background is different. For the past twenty years I've been working in small business - starting things, growing things, and working alongside everyone from highly qualified academics to parents building something from the kitchen table. I've worked with freelancers, consultants, tradespeople, and corporate escapees. I understand how work actually operates outside the school gates, and that's the perspective I bring to every session.
I also have two teenagers/young adults of my own - both completely different - so I can empathise with the struggle.
This isn't career counselling by the textbook, it's career counselling from someone who lives and works in the same world your teenager is about to enter.
